John Lawrence

Chief Nicholas Dyer was born in Birmingham, Alabama. Chief Dyer joined the Fairfield Police Department in May 2002 and completed the Montgomery Police Academy.

Chief Dyer has been promoted steadily through the ranks serving as a Supervisor in both Patrol and Criminal Investigations. Chief Dyer served as the Unit Commander of the Multi Agency Drug Enforcement Team (MADET), and a Task Force Investigator with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Chief Dyer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Homeland Security and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
