E. J. Foster

Biography

E.J. Foster is the Council Representative for District Three, which includes the Englewood neighborhood, and borders parts of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Myron Massey Blvd, and Avenue H. District Three is also the home of C.J. Donald Elementary, Fairfield High Preparatory School, and Miles College. Councilor Foster was elected to serve his first term on August 25, 2020.

Councilor Foster serves as the Chair of Streets, Lights, Transportation, Sanitation, Drainage and Community Improvements Committee. This committee makes recommendations concerning all matters related to maintaining public utilities and services in the city of Fairfield: i.e. water supply, sewage and waste disposal, landscaping, electricity, and transportation and also develops remedies and improves policies that regulate all community improvements, construction projects, grounds maintenance, road and transit repairs. He is also a member of the Health, Education, Welfare and Human Resource Committee and the Public Safety Committee.

Councilor Foster has worked in the field of engineering for over 14 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Cornell University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama. His aim is to continue to build the relationship between the schools and the neighborhood, improve the infrastructure, and pursue economic development opportunities. He is a member of Urban Hope Community Church in Fairfield and serves as a board member for UHD, which is their community development non-profit organization.
