Barakas Taylor

Barakas Taylor is serving his second term as representative for District 1.

Barakas was raised in the City of Fairfield and is a product of the Fairfield School System. Taylor is a graduate of Fairfield High School and has attended both Jacksonville State University and Columbia Southern University.

Taylor is a 20+ year professional firefighter with the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Department serving in the current position of Lieutenant.

Taylor has been a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield.

Taylor’s community involvement includes Fairfield Industrial High School Alumni Association member and past-Vice President, Real Men Read volunteer at Robinson Elementary School, Fairfield Alumni Picnic, Homecoming event organizer, and Fairfield High Preparatory School scholarship and program fundraising.
